The first stage of the application process if to submit a written application through UCAS.
We will then quickly assess if you meet our entry requirements and then score your application against our key competencies:
Teaching and Learning
If your application is successful you will be invited to attend an interview at one of our partner schools.
The interview will consist of:
1. Panel interview
You will be asked a series of competency based questions by a panel of experienced practitioners and leaders.
2. Observed teaching
You will be asked to deliver a short lesson in line with the position and subject applied for. This will be observed and graded against the competencies with some consideration to student voice.
3. Written task
You will be asked to complete a short written task to assess your standard of written English. This will take the form of responding to a series of school based scenarios. For Salaried trainees, they will complete an additional planning task.
4. Subject Knowledge
At interview we will ask you to complete a KS4 task based on KS4 curriculum (secondary).
At interview we will ask you to complete a KS2 task based on KS2 curriculum (primary).
The interview is not only a chance for us to assess your suitability to join our programme but also for you ask any questions.
If you are successful at interview, you will be given a conditional offer.
The conditions attached to your offer can include:
Successfully passing the professional skills test
Successfully satisfying all safeguarding requirements
Medical and DBS
You will also be required to complete a disqualification by association form.
