There are two routes that we offer:

1.Salaried QTS Only Route

To be compliant for this route with NMIITTP you will need to have a supporting school that wants to enable you to become qualified and is willing to join our partnership.

For September 2020 entry applicants must have a supporting school who are willing to employ you through your training year.

You should have worked for at least 3 years and have experience of working successfully with children. You need to be ready to teach and will have a timetable from September 1st; you will receive a salary as an unqualified teacher from your supporting school and your training fees are covered.

2.Training Route

Training route trainees are classed as full time students and will pay tuition fees. You would be eligible to apply for student finance.

You will gain QTS from NMIITTP and PGCE (SCITE) from Manchester Metropolitan University.

This route is ideal for those with less school experience and you will be supernumerary. Find out more about student finance.

From September 2020 all trainees who opt for a primary route can follow one of two courses:

age range 3-7

This course will enable you to specialise in Early Years and Key Stage 1. You will complete focused placements in 2 phases whilst gaining experience and knowledge throughout the complete age range. Your course will normally cover an academic year within a substantive training school and contrasting shorter placement in another school. You will be in school Monday - Thursday, with Fridays allocated for professional studies, subject and phase knowledge sessions and independent research.
