I am a primary trained teacher and have 12 years of experience teaching across the 3-11 range, all within schooIs with an Ofsted grading of outstanding. I specialise in English and have written personalised phonic programmes for 2 London based schools, resulting in 96% of children passing the screening test across 4 classes; with 100% of children passing in the class which I was teaching. Originally embarking my career in the North East of England, I took on multiple roles in addition to class teacher; including PE subject leader, maths subject leader and professional tutor for Gateshead 3-7 SCITT. After relocating to London and taken on the role of English subject lead, I worked at 2 contrasting London based schools, one of which being the largest primary school in Wandsworth, with an expanding 4 form entry intake across 2 sites. The other being a 2 form entry in a deprived area of Kennington. Working as Assistant Head Teacher in the latter post, I led a bespoke NQT programme and took on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead. During my time in this position, I was part of the Senior Leadership Team which moved the school from good to outstanding in 2017, when Nick Gibb also accredited the school as being in the ‘top 3% of schools for progress in England and top of similar schools in London for achievement.’ Having worked for 2 National Teaching Schools, I have supported a wealth of trainee, newly qualified, recently qualified and experienced teachers in developing their practice and have delivered a number of training sessions. I joined North Manchester Initial Teacher Training Partnership in September 2018 as Primary Lead, where I manage both the 3-7 and 5-11 programmes.
