Lucy Hodson
SCITT Lead
Lucy joined North Manchester Initial Teacher Training Partnership in September 2020 and oversees the teacher training programme.
Lucy has been teaching English in North Manchester since 2011 and some of her previous responsibilities have included Key Stage 3 English Coordinator, Head of English Literature and Professional Mentor.
Lucy’s current role as Assistant Principal at Manchester Communication Academy provides her with the opportunity to support early career teachers from the start of their career, through to the end of the RQT year and beyond. She is currently involved in the early roll out of the Early Career Framework at MCA.
“I’m passionate about providing early career teachers with a quality training programme, underpinned by the best available evidence from educational research. At NMITTP, we want our trainees to gain a thorough understanding of how students learn and be able to apply this to their classroom practice.”

CATHERINE WARD
Strategic Lead
Catherine has worked at North Manchester Initial Teacher Training Partnership for over two years and runs the 3-7 and 5-11 programmes.
Previous to her role with NMITTP, Catherine worked in schools in both Gateshead and London where her most recent post was Assistant Head Teacher. Some of her previous responsibilities have included Safeguarding Lead, NQT Lead and English Lead with a focus on phonics. Catherine also has previous experience of working as a Professional Tutor within a SCITT, which has provided her with a wealth of experience in both mentoring and delivering training sessions for early career teachers.
“The most rewarding part of the job is watching the progress of the children in our partnership schools. We are very proud of the reflective practitioners that train with us and the impact that they each have in the classroom.”

jan hindley
Remote Support
Jan has been with NMITTP since 2015 and runs the secondary programme.
Jan has been a Professional Mentor in schools in Manchester and Knowsley and has been involved with teacher training for over 20 years. She has worked with most of the universities in the North West of England and has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience.
“I am enthusiastic about supporting our trainees in their schools so that they become reflective, knowledgeable and skilled teachers. The trainees at NMITTP receive bespoke training and advice to support them on their journey to becoming a proficient, informed and enthusiastic teachers.”

NIAMH RObinson
Compliance and Admin Assistant
Niamh joined North Manchester Initial Teacher Training Partnership in April 2018 and manages the compliance and administration of the programme.
Niamh’s background in customer service, alongside her degree in Human Resources, enable her to provide a fantastic balance of professional and personable support for our trainees.
“I enjoy being a part of the NMITTP team and watching trainees grow into excellent teachers. I am always here to offer help and support to trainees whatever the situation, and to make the partnership run as easily and efficiently as possible.”
