Primary Training Route

"NMITTP is a fantastic teacher training programme which gave me first hand experience of teaching in school. As a trainee at Moston Lane Primary School, I had the opportunity to work in Year 6 and Year 2 classes, where I planned and led a wide range of subjects in both Key Stages. The staff and children were friendly, and I always felt a valued member of the team. My mentor was really welcoming and organised; she also helped me to overcome any challenges. Mentor meetings and observations were highly beneficial in helping me to reflect on and develop my practice. Catherine, Lucy and Jan were an extremely kind and dedicated SCITT team. Each training session was informative but also personal. Any queries or questions were responded to immediately, and I always felt comfortable to ask anything I was unsure of. I was also able to get a job for September due to their ongoing commitment to support trainees. This was the perfect training programme for me because my experiences in school and at SCITT sessions helped me to grow in confidence and develop a love for teaching. I couldn’t recommend NMITTP enough!"

Maths Training Route

“I'm overjoyed as I'm about to qualify as a Secondary Maths teacher and I can't speak highly enough of NMITTP. Led by the most enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable and supportive team (Jan, Lucy and Catherine) you could ever wish to meet, this SCITT course was perfect for my needs. Based in the terrific host school, MCA, I was immediately made to feel at home within my department. There is a really vibrant atmosphere to MCA which is built upon the incredible pupils and the staff that make it what it is. I'm so lucky to have secured my first job as a teacher here in September!

The training is varied and challenging which has helped me to develop my skills and confidence to be ready to teach and inspire the next generation. My journey through the training was closely monitored by my personal mentor through regular meetings, observations and reflective discussions on how I could improve my practice, step by step. It was also really nice to be part of a tight knit cohort of trainees who made a great team and got on so well - I'll miss them!

I'll never forget, that when the going got tough, I was given such brilliant support and guidance which has made the world of difference to me personally. If you're looking for a classroom based teaching course which is 'hands-on' and delivered by people with an immense love of teaching in a diverse and energetic school -  then this is the course for you!”
